Hi all, hoping someone can point me in a good direction this weekend with my 2004 545i, I'm finding some posts about water in the passenger area but nothing as specific as my issue. I'm finding a lot of water in my rear passenger side foot well and nowhere else. I'm planning to pull out the rear passenger wheel well skirt as I believe I read there is a sunroof drain in there that gets clogged but doesn't that cause water to go into the trunk usually? I looked under the hood quick and there isn't any debris on the sides of the cabin filters. The car is parked quite level and I'm finding there is a pool of water in the foot well floor after a big rain storm and a bit of water around the HVAC ducts under the seat. I'm not finding water anywhere else, carpet up the sides is dry, trunk is dry, spare tire well and battery area is dry, front foot wells and driver side rear foot well is dry.
Try checking the rear passenger door for water. Open and close the door and listen for sloshing. There are drainholes on the underside of the weatherstripping, across the bottom of the door, that can become clogged with dirt thrown up by the tires. Worth a check.
Good luck....
May want to check the vapor guard under the interior door panel. Should be sealed all the way around
