    2005 x3 3.0 whats a good scan tool

I'm looking for a good low priced scan tool to read codes and reset what I can.
Also an air bag scan/reset tool.
Some just seem confusing on what can do what. Or some have said they don't work on 2005's.

    Thanks.

There is nothing wrong with the quality of Peake tools, my biggest objections to them are extremely limited functionality and price. For less than the cost of 2 Peake Tools, which will only read and clear fault codes on 2 modules (DME and SRS), you can buy Carly for BMW Pro and a WiFi interface that will read and clear fault codes in all modules, perform lots of coding functions with free updates and like the Peake Tools, not require you to lug a laptop or wired interface around. Although I have and do use INPA, DIS, ISTA as well as PA Soft, a few other diagnostic tools, including the Peake Tools and Carly, I honestly believe that Carly is the best choice for the casual user, both in terms of convenience and the fact that it is supported with regular updates, rather than having to chase and update software manually.
