Got hit from the side going about 15-20. Believed to have a broken axle. Havnt gotten it inspected yet, just wanted to see some thoughts. Really the only good pic I got while I was there, my passenger got some more, but i dont have them.

More than that, probably 8K at a good body shop.
Yea, thankfully I am. Going through the insurance that hit me. I mean I talked to the inspector he said if it's more than 80% of the value it's a total loss. So hopefully it's not
I'd say for sure you need a door, a fender, bumper cover, wheel, tire, RF suspension assembly, Just that stuff alone is probably about $6000. The A pillar will probably need pulled. I dont think its a total though. Damage looks worse that what it probably is. I've been doing collision work for over 20 years, that is not a major hit, the undamaged value of the car is what will determine if its totaled. What year, what model, mileage? I'm curious if it blew any seat belt tensioners or side airbags. If you do get it fixed, I would demand either good quality used or OEM parts. If you see lines on the appraisal that say Non OEM parts, you need to raise holy hell. A used suspension assembly is OK as long as it comes off a car with the same or less miles as yours, same thing with a door and fender, but I would not let them put aftermarket on there.
If you need any help or advice, PM me, I'd be glad to help.

I got the estimate today, and he came back with 9600 and had to stop because he said he had felt like it would have gone over the value. The car is a 2008 with 98000miles but it's in mint condition or was. What bothers me though is that he has done his estimate and with it, he said the one rim that needed to be replaced was $900. Now I know damn well I didn't pay $900 for rims more like $350. But now i feel like its all being skewed because he's highballing repairs and low balling total car value. 12.2k is overall value and worth of the car and that's what they could give me. Is it worth that? Yea sure without all the add ons, maybe stock. But if he's going to estimate 900 rims a piece then it better be in the overall value of the car. Just my thoughts.

The Oem rims probably are 900. You can get some reconditioned ones for 189, or a used one for around 150, unless you have aftermarket rims installed, in which case they should be less that oe price by a lot. If he figures all brand new oe parts I can see it being that much. 12,200 seems a little on the low side. Have you turned the appraisal into insurance yet?

No offense, but why are you so adamant about saving this car?
Yes, the adjuster is predisposed to totaling it if it's borderline because they make more by doing so. If everything else is mint, I would buy it back and part it out. Take the balance and find a newer, lower mileage car.
Was the person who hit you drunk? Or distracted on the phone? If so, lawyer up and sue them. Watch how fast the dollars roll in.
You can work with the adjuster to provide your own replacement wheel.
