2004 525i E60 AC getting warm whilst driving.

Hello everyone need your help, It was not unusual for my AC to take about 15 - 20 minutes to start cooling, however recently I realised that even whilst in motion my AC gets warm, its worse whilst idling in traffic, suddenly it would pick up again, when it's working properly it cools nicely just don't understand the drop in temp. I would really appreciate your feedback.

Could you pull the codes for the AC system? That might provide some additional insight. Otherwise it could be anything from the HVAC controller to the heat exchanger to the compressor.....
