The rear speakers in my new ride barely work and sound like doo doo.
1. Are they difficult to remove?
2. Anyone have a good used set available?
3. Where is a good place to source some replacements from? Just basic ones, nothing fancy.
Thanks.
You didnt even attempt a search, speaker and audio threads on almost every page without even searching.

How do you know I didn't do a search, are you monitoring my computer, lol? I use the search function from time to time, but that won't let me know if someone has an extra pair laying around unless they have them posted in the classifieds. I will do a search now and see what I come up with.
Search for "Monsoon speakers" on this forum. Many of us have swapped the factory rear speakers to the VW Monsoon speakers and have never looked back. There is a member (dville) who will build an entire rear speaker deck with the VW Monsoons already installed and all you need to do is swap out the rear decks. Awesome sound, plenty of bass, and very little mods required to get them in.
You can find them at any Junk Yard from a 99-05 VW Jetta in the front doors (G coded speakers, 4 ohm). Usually about $6 each at the JY. Clean them (they are plastic, not paper), modify and install. Best $24 I ever spent on the sound system. Or for about $100 dville will build you the rear deck, so you don't have to deal with the mods.

Kouks: Thanks for the info. I will keep this for future reference if needed. I was able to get 4 factory speakers off of mooll, so we'll see how those work out. Just looking for basic sound that actually works. I reply back to this thread after I get them installed.
Regards, Chris.
