    BMW 97 540i Transmission problem

Hello everyone, ive search and found nothing if ive miss look redirect me.
So the problem im having is my transmission wont shift unless i get up to 5k rpms doesnt matter hot or cold, also "S mode" does nothing cant shift gears. now ive replaced the valve body(used) with new fluid and filter top off fluid. double check after going around the block.
Im also getting no codes at all, the only thing that every pop up was A "transmission fail" no code with it.
Not sure whats causing this, im thinking it a software error or something, has anyone had this problem before or know what may be going on?

Is the dash displaying the selected gear but the trans stays in gear? Have you tried resetting the computer? Do you have a scanner?

Yes it stay in first regardless of selected gear.
Tried resetting and replaced Module it made no chances , scanner shows nothing.
I should have done when i did the trans change but gonna try to replace the torque convert, maybe its failing and not allowing proper pressure?? Fluid was black when i drain before taking old one out. from what i found and understand its overheating.

Had a similar problem. Turned out to be a soldered relay in the TCM module. $2 later and it was not an issue.
Strange that you don't get any codes tho...

I replaced the TCM still no change, or was it one of the relay by the TCM? if so which one?
Yea i dont get why i dont have any codes. i even manged to put 50 miles on it with city and highway driving, without blowing it up, so i could get some miles on to throw any codes. battery was bone dead when i got the car.
I check all fuses, i havent dived into relays yet.
