It's only a concept, so the production model will likely be changed. But just looking at the front of this concept for now, there seems to be a problem with the proportions. The kidney grill looks too big in relation to the headlights, which seem too small.

Now I'm interested to know about the technical specs, the performance figures, the engine options and so forth.

A lot of BMW concepts of production cars are identical to the production version... There is a very high chance that what we see here will be a production car.

It looks to me like the i8 was a concept and after cost cutting and altering the concept for production constraints it became this car...
