Trunk "non-skid mat"

Wondering if anyone has any info on this trunk non-skid mat accessory. It's shown as discontinued but I landed one on the ebay . Going by the picture in BMW fans, I thought it would be shaped like the e31 trunk but when I opened the OEM bmw packaging it is just one big rectangle. I'm wondering if it just has to be cut to fit the shape of our trunk.

Wouldn't mind getting one of these, as protection for my carpet mat.
Is it dimpled both sides, or just the upper surface?

The auction says it's generic. I guess just like this BMW one there is always the option to cut.

Thanks. I have one of these from some excess roll of cabinet mat from years back. Literally looks exactly the same.

What I use now is the OE cargo net and an amazon anti-fatigue mat to hold anything that is big and heavy. I also had an zip-up insulated heavy duty equipment box (spill proof liner) back there, but it was pain to get in and out.
