Fresh E34 540ia owner

Hey there.Well,nothing much to say.I cant even express anything,it's going to be my first own 540.
I considered buying an E38/E39,even contacted few owners,but after some thinking i came to a conclusion that i dont want to give up on e34's and older beamers since there's not much left of those here anymore,specially 540's.
2 days ago i contacted the owner about car,does he still have it and is it for sale.After he told me yes,i still have it and it's up and nobody havent been intrested in it.Few hours later i was having a test drive and after that i knew that i must get this one.So tomorrow i am going to pick it up,give it some cleaning and update this topic with some new information.


Sad thing it's an auto,but still better than nothing.
It's third E34 540 in our family,the other 2 ones are 6 speed factory manuals,one of them is fully factory individual with door handles,leather door cars,center console,dashboard lower parts etc,two tone leather,black headliner of touring etc...

Anyways,here's the factory list of mine:
Hifi amp is missing so is the cd box.Previous owner has replaced sports memory electric seats with default black leather ones,but lucky i got electric sports already in my garage and ready to be installed.

One of the previous owners have added Alpina stickers and front bumper lip.
Yeah,i know it isnt a right thing to do,but lets face it,does make it look nicer.
Also got myself already US sidemarkers,going to install those also.







Since this is my first 540,i am open for any kind of tips and stuff related to this engine,gearbox and all kind of problems which go with it.So far i have owned only M51 E34 and E36 with M40/43.

I know this is a late reply...hopefully you've found some info already. e34.net is a good site for fixing stuff on our cars as is e38.org/e34.... all the forums help ( like bimmerboard.com/e34 too

You should post this in the main E34 section. Even with too few pedals and too many holes in the roof, that's still a great car and by the looks of the seats, well cared-for in its history. Bottlecaps look very strange with Alpina stripes... got plans for other wheels? Got more photos? Blue on black is my second-favorite color scheme (only after black on black).

If you unplug the Servotronic (which might be very difficult to reach), you'll have steering that's halfway between normal power steering and manual steering. I did this on a previous E34 and liked it.
