My dad texted me a few weeks ago that he had found some BBS wheels in the junkyard. The guys had no clue what they were holding on to, so they let him have all 4 wheels for $130!
I saw the potential in them immediately, so I purchased some paint stripper, ordered the hard as hell to find 12 point torx, and some colored bbs caps.
I took them apart with a heat gun to loosen the loctite, and stripped the lips. Sanded them all down with 400, 600, 1200, 2000 and polished with some metal polish and a drill attachment.
+ Bolts are going in to be anodized gold this week.
It was a lot of work, but definitely worth it. Check your junkyards!
Wow, I'd rock them as is! Here in the New England 99% of these are trashed really bad with oxidation. These came out really nice! How long did it take per wheel roughly?
Ummmm....wow. Great work. I would consider these for a winter wheel after being refreshed.
