    Tire noise ??

My "new to me" 530xiT (07 38,000 mi) has DUNLOP DIREZZA 245/40x18's) the code is 460, which I "assume" is 46 week of 2000, so late 2000 which means the even though they look like new are really 6 1/2 years old....(and from CA)....they seem to be VERY noisy, is this because they are old or are those tires noisy to begin with....
I am thinking to replace the tires and/or go to 19" (and nicer wheels)
I am mainly interested in QUIET RIDE, and DRY PERFORMANCE, the car will go about 5,000 mils a year and probably see wet streets very seldom.
What have you had good luck with?

If you're looking for a quiet ride and some performance at a good price, check out the Hankook V12 evo 2 tires. If you're looking for a more performance oriented set, check out the PSS.

Direzza are not quiet to begin with. Hankook that Dmitry mentioned are pretty nice for what they are.

There isn't a tire that's both quiet and a top-tier dry/summer tire performance-wise. As you go up the performance ladder you lose things like rid comfort, noise, and tread life. Tires in the summer tire category just below the top tier like the Michelin Pilot Super Sport (PSS) are pretty good compromises. It's a tire with pretty good dry performance with plenty of tread life and is very nice on the street and in the rain. It wouldn't be recommended for extended track use, but other than that it should be fine.
