Yea i should have too. Not only would it have been easier to work with, it would save weight and really simplify things.

I figured this was as good of a place as any to bring this up. If you do a search on VESC you will find an open source BLDC (brushless) or brushed DC motor controller. In stock form it takes an analog input (like a pressure sensor) and outputs a current to a motor....i.e. fuel pump or fan or...50amp continuous and some ridiculous peak numbers. So if pressure sensor reads low then it can be setup to increase pressure. Ive been reading on it and its pretty amazing. It does can or i2c or straight analog. It will do velocity or position control with a little work. I believe 80 some odd amps on an intermittant duty (check duration) would allow you to dynamicly boost pressure and only use enough current (generates heat in the fuel) to push the fuel system harder or softer if you look at it from the low demand states. You can also play with field timing to boost speed or torque of the rotor (pump).
I just don't understand why you big power guys don't go to a Road Race type fuel cell with the foam inserts (including the ping pong balls to limit our volume) to combat slosh and pickup issues. If we could win the 24 hours of Daytona with a 700 HP car pounding about, sucking down 22 gallons in 45 minutes, I don't know why it'd be such an issue for our cars with regard to drag pulls and the such. I understand about the pump issues, but not the fuel cell vs saddle tank stuff.

Twin 450's should do 1000 without a problem. My trap speed vs weight indicates 750hp thru auto (high stall converter and awd too) at 37psi. Unofficially, have run 50psi boost only. And 42psi plus a 100shot. No fuel delivery issues at all. I do run 8 injectors and lower the base fuel pressure to 38psi to keep the head pressure as low as I can on pumps.
Only issue is needing to carry 3/4 tank of fuel to keep pumps from sucking air on a launch. 15gal fuel cell and big mofo single magnafuel is coming next.

Math says the magnafuel isn't enough at 13.5v and 50psi'ish when I spray. I'm going a bit silly with triple 044's when I go fuel cell and external this winter. Two on an aeromotive fuel controller and the third kicked on by AEM with Boost.

I plan on running the magnafuel 4303 on 16v to get close to 1200whp. Pump curve looks right on the edge. May have to add a AEM380 in parallel to get me there.

Mechanical/hex is really what is needed nowadays with e85+ and the turbos available.

The G body we are building has a belt driven mechanical pump. Thing is sick. But its not cheap after you buy a regulator big enough to handle the flow.

I can do a cam driven hex drive on my 4g63, but still need a priming pump if pulling from a cell in back. It all gets complicated and expensive. Lol.

Probably not. Problem with these big electric pumps are pressure. I'm in a different boat than you guys though since I have to run 40-50psi for 1000hp. Add in a 40-45psi base pressure and pressure losses and you are in bad place for these pumps. The Bosch 044's don't drop off much but you have to run several. It's worked for many guys over the years.
I have fail safes on o2 lean out and fuel pressure with AEM, so not too concerned about a pump failing. Already had one of two walbro 450s go out and I was covered.
