    Are E46 rust, valganic errosion, subject?

    galvanic...it matters!

    I don't have any rust on either one of my E-46's, and that is only because they get washed on a regular basis, and the arches get scrubbed, and undercoated twice a year.

    True, but you can keep it from happening at a rapid pace if you keep the car clean.

    My old 535i had rust on it, and you can only slow it down once it gets a grab on the body. And here it is 33 years old and still on the road with about 500k miles.

    In the end, it comes down to the care a vehicle receives, for if you only wash it once in the winter and don't put any wax on the car, it won't last long until the rust start to get a foothold on the car.
