Seeing as the E32/E34 fuel check valve retrofit kit from BMW is NLA, I put together my own little kit.
Parts:
1. Aluminum one way fuel check valve 5/16" (8mm), buy 2x from eBay here (seemed to me to be high quality when I handled it) from seller novoefine
Attachment 599233
2. 2x 5/16" (8mm) clamps, I bought a set of variable size clamps from ebay seller findbig
Attachment 599235
3. 1 foot of 5/16" rubber fuel line, cost me $1.25 from advance auto
Procedure:
1. Remove trunk liner
2. Remove the 5 phillips screws on the fuel pump cover
3. Undo fuel pump electrical connector
4. Loosen clamp on the top hose, cut to fit fuel check valve
5. cut enough of new fuel line to fit the fuel pump oulet and connect to fuel check valve inline. Note direction of flow on the check valve.
6. Before fitting the new fuel line to the fuel pump outlet, make sure you put 2 clamps on the line, but do not tighten yet, and install the old fuel line on the outlet side of the fuel check valve
7. Check fit of the inline fuel check valve, if it fits nicely, tighten all 3 clamps
8. Re-install fuel pump cover
9. pray you did everything right
10. Turn the key to on, let pump build pressure for about 5-10 seconds, then crank
11. Rejoice!
My first tutorial, don't rip me too hard.
