    clutch replacement

I removed the transmission and replaced the clutch kit and flywheel on my 2004 BMW 325xi all wheel drive. The problem I have is that I do not have enough room bewteen the transmission housing and the firewall to put the transmission back on the engine block. The engine will not tilt back at all. How can I get the engine to tilt at least 1" or 1 1/2" that I need of clearance. Any ideas. Thank you

Put a jack with a wood block on it under the front of the oil pan, and gently jack upwards. Note that you will likely have to put the wood block on its edge, so as to fit it between subframe and power steering lines.

Oh, make sure that you thoroughly clean and lube the starter dowel and the hole it goes into on the transmission.
