Hi,
I used to be a member on here until I sold my 840i a few years back and got lots of brilliant advice and help when I needed it so I'm hoping now that I've bought the exact same car back I can pick all your brains again.
I recently spilt some coffee on my 1995 840i's sports/ecomony/snow mode switch and now its not working. It only worked when it felt like it before this happened so I'm trying to find a replacement but I'm drawing a blank everywhere. Is anyone on here breaking one or have a switch for sale?
Also there's a creaking noise coming from the drivers side rear suspension. Not surprising after 210,000 miles but I can't pinpoint where it's coming from. Is there a bush or arm it's most likely to be? Is it a common problem?
Thanks in advance!
Joe.
The switch is electrically identical to the sunroof switch - get one of those instead! The switches come apart easily and consist of brass plungers, springs and a few bits of bent metal - take it apart clean it up and stick it back together (slightly trickier)....
