    Flickering Angel eyes

    Hi:

I swapped my front pre face lift Xenon head light to face lift Xenon head light. I also swapped the yellow angle eyes bulb to a hyper white LED (12v, 7W) light bulbs. I noticed when the lights are off completely, the angel eyes are flickering! Any ideas as why that is happening? The power to AE is from my parking light wire with dedicated ground wire.
    Thanks

This will happen on cold start also as the car does its regular light check. LED's take so small amount of current to run them that the current that is sent through on start up is enough to make them flicker. You can add resistors to them and it will stop it. But nothing is wrong that's normal.

If I want to add a resistor, what would be resistor specification?

If they're installed the factory way, where you have the split turn signal harness (one to the turn signal and one that Y's off to the angel eye bulb) you can also go into navcoder and turn off the light check signal within the LCM for the turn/park lamps. Only thing is you won't even get an on dash notification of a park/turn bulb being burned out anymore.

I did that with my E38 when I upgraded to LED high beams. Another option too (and this is how I did my E39'S angel eyes when I upgraded to OEM xenon with Halo's) is there's a harness you can get from bavauto for $30 that allows you to wire them up as a daytime running lamp by tapping the accessories wire in the DME compartment under the passenger side cabin air filter. So when the key is on, the Halo's are lit, key gets turned off the stay lit for about 5 more secs then turn off.

Here's a video of a similar harness that's wired up how I've done mine, tho this guy is using a harness from a supplier that's no longer available. Personally I prefer this way
