Nice looking car, keep it up! And yeah these guys are absolutely correct... pay now vs cheap out now and pay more later!!

I'm still sorting issues on a 3 year old "budget build" but enjoying it every day.

They are also given millions to buy up local real estate. A crappy tear down in Vancouver is 1.5 million dollars because of it.

NickG is in Florida. He would be the most experienced tuner for turboed e36's.

IMG_0507.jpg Decided to try to keep ac. This good help keep the wife in the game.
i knotched the aluminum bumper support and mounted directly through top surface of supporting . Between fan and bumper is tight but some knotching on bumper worked. I will need to relocate ac dryer on hot side for piping. The cx piping is not correct but the modification should be worth keeping ac, if possible. Got all header nuts off, fun, lol.
one slight issue, intercooler hangs below bumper 1.5 inch, comment please

Kept ac, cold piping under sub frame. Only way really

Not sure where the mounting points on your IC are but take it back off and use the bumper as a reference point and then fabricate brackets or install.

    Yes, go to my thread:

    https://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/s...52-Turbo-Build

Didn't realize you were going top mount though, so your piping will be different.

I removed the AUX fan and installed a slim line fan behind radiator, gave me plenty of IC room up front.

Why is not bottoming out? Stripped?

Try anti seize lube on threads. I personally wouldn't use loctite on exhaust studs

Somers if you get the bolt started and start tightening down the sruds will follow

Some of the studs came out, I purchased new studs. I am going to double nut and install the studs tonight. Do you know when installing the new studs, Will they eventually bottom out and stop threatening in? Wanted to make sure that I did not go too far in with the studs and damage something internally. From what I read regarding the gaskets, metal side against the head, is that what you have heard
X pattern working from the center out is the correct way to tighten manifold?

What mani do you have there all made different. Tightening the spa was a pain, didn't follow a pattern for it, no leaks.

Damage something eternally not sure what you mean here. You want the threads to be snug. And tightening hex bolt should tighten thread some.

If I were you I would use bolts instead may work better for your situation

    Not terrible actually,

Got injectors in yesterday, waiting to install meth kit. Ordered a couple exhaust parts so I can start welding. Waiting on funds for engine management/tuning.

FYI, it took me 7-9 hours to install my exhaust manifold. So I would assume the difficulty you are having is considered normal while installing these manifolds with the head on the block.

    persistence + beer = success

    Yes he seems to be.

Thing that stood out to me about him is that he contacted me, I didn't have to contact him.

    Good communication is must
