This is great! Sometimes the wrong way is the right way. I'm curios how long this setup will last on a stock HG.
Nice
Any advice on oil feed location for turbo
Same as my thought exactly. At least 50% of the threads in FI section are like this. Noob 16 year old buys E36 for cheap as his first car and before even fixing anything that must be fixed on the car, goes and order's cheap worthless turbo kit from ebay, then when he gets the kit then starts posting here.
Cheapest way that I can think of is the RallyRoad Vanos bolt.

Everyone's entitled to own opinions.
I agree the hg is the correct way.
Thanks for Vanos bolt info!
This ones cheaper and does the same thing.
Although RR did come with a nice sticker, which I always like.

will need a -4an connector and steel braided hose to whatever size your turbo inlet is

Well at first he said he had CX kit
Then he said he didn't didn't have it
So I guess he shipped CX kit back
Wants to run E85 no HG

Hold on,
I think I found him:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q3XSHq7_Vww
for power levels between 400-500 whp stock m50 rods and pistons are super reliable with good tune, especially with e85,its proven a lot of times and i am sure for that because i have done it myself too.
I wish I was that young, you guys keep it real. I respect that
The purchase was the 6262 precision t4 turbo and rapid spool tubular manifold with cx for the intercooler kit.
Hoping the purchase some remaining items this week
With the e85 and a good tune maybe 350 to the wheels will hold for a bit.
I do appreciate the info on the parts

People might think I'm crazy to start a project like this at my age and lack of experience. But you realize it's not important what people think
hopeful to get some more feedback as I get into this project
I agree with you 100%. I'd be lying if there wasn't a few times when I thought to myself "wtf am I doing."
Then I remembered all those guys at work with their 5.0 mustangs and customized plates.
I remember why I'm doing it now
As far as experience, BFC is a wealth of info as I said earlier. I've learned everything about my car from this site when I got it about 7 years ago. Just search around, there not extremely difficult to work on either.

Im 37 and successfully turbocharged my M3 a few months ago. Glad to see there's older farts than myself around here . After a few joyrides in my car, my dad wants to turbo his 86 635csi now, and he's 73!
Since I'm still kind of a turbo newbie, I wont offer much advise, but i will say this: dont skimp out on HG/Studs and over build as much as your budget will possible allow the first time. Cut ring HG, studs, and a decent clutch will keep you happy for a while. Boost is addicting, and you will turn it up. Fixing stuff every other time you drive it sucks when your old and have other things to do.
"**if you suck at driving, it certainly could put you into a curb. Don't suck."
Lol, I'm a late starter. Started racing motocross at 35, after 10 years of damaging body, hung it up
been jonzing for speed ever since
sons leaving for college, great time for new venture
I often wonder if I'm the youngest person in this FI sub section........
