It would be cool if you could find a shop willing to duplicate.
The few HP gain doesn't much appeal to me relative to the work required, but I got an idea that with the right muffler, these may sing a note very pleasant to one's ears.

More progress today, some serious wrenching needed to install these headers! Hope the result will be worth it!

    not enough
considering how bad of a job it is to replace the starter...with stock manifolds. Have you considered replacing your starter now? Looks awfully easy with nothing in the way...and the job will probably be harder with the new headers on.

Well, I thought about this when the engine was out, however the car only has 48k miles, it is very rarely driven, maybe 2k per year so starter has a very long life ahead of it.

Those headers sure look like a pit of snakes when they are installed. I have been toying with asking you for a bunch of pictures from all angles. Have the flanges cut out of 3/8 stainless on my buddies water-jet, and building a set. But the more I look at them, the less I want to.

I can send the pics, no problem. However on a closer inspection these headers would take incredible amount of work to build one off quality set. I thought 3800 Mk charges is alot, now I actually think its a bargain.

My honey-do list for Eva is plenty long already. I am confident in my fab skills(I have made headers before), but the lack of real estate is my biggest concern. And of course, Eva has the M73. Would that make a tremendous difference? Hard to say.

I will pm you my email. If it is not a huge imposition, I will store the pics away while I research the possibilites. Thanks.

While waiting for the headers to come back from ceramic coating I had to remove the heat shields... treated them with citris strip.... no more dirty grimy shields, and no more cooking old oil on them!

In my 20 years of owning 850 I have never been asked to raise the hood, neither has any other 8 series owner, this isn't some Honda Civic with droning exhaust. I've heard this nonsense before, don't modify the car you'll get in trouble bla bla bla bla...

Ceramic coating, then they tumbled the headers in the polishing tumbler for 6 hours. There is a great shop here that does this.
