Hey guys, I really need some help with this. I need to get the strong column out to install my pedals for my 5 speed swap and this stupid bolt won't budge. I've tried cutting 3 different notches in for a screwdriver and the notches keep breaking, I've broken 3 drill bits drying to drill it out, and trying to chisel it out is only destroying it to the point that the bracket is also getting damaged. I need some help figuring this out. The threads must be seized. Here's what's left of it so far. Thanks guys!
Dremmel the rest of the head off and deal with it with vise grips once the bracket is out of the way.

Try working the edge with a flat chisel and hammer. Really bite into the edge of the screw head. Once it works loose, use vise grips to finish it
Weld a nut to it.

Angle grinder worked for me, then vise grips to twist out the remaining stud once the pedal cluster was free. The above replies should work too. Good luck!
Given the spot you are working in it's tough to get a good whack it with hammer and chisel but it has worked for me every time so far. They aren't very tight so one good whack is usually all it takes when working a SHARP chisel around the perimeter.
Have fun
