    Front Bumper Removal Airbag Question?

    1995 525i 5 SPD.

i am in the process of sanding and priming my car. I have the front bumper almost off but, I see a connector, which I believe is the air bag sensor. Should I disconnect the battery prior to unplugging the connector?

    Thanks in advance!

Wait for 10~15min. after battery disconnection before unplugging SRS connections.

I think it's the temperature sensor. I found a topic on this forum and the person had pics and the yellow connector I'm talking about is the temperature sensor.

It's the temp sensor. The connection for airbag deployment is behind the bumper, so nothing else to disconnect. The bumper should slide off after removing four bolts.

Do me a favor if you can; would you please take a photo of the backside of your bumper after it's off the car and post it here?

If you're standing in front of the car pulling the bumper out toward you, the temp sensor is to the lower right, just left of the fog lamp.

You will have to use a screw driver to move the plastic liners in the wheel wells away from your bumper for it to just slide off. I tend to use my nice big picket knife and a screw driver. Makes it come off nice and easy.

thats the connector I was talking about. I saw a thread with pics and it stated it was the temp sensor. I should have searched more before posting.

Looking to see if there is a cover on the backside lower portion. Just a pic of the whole bumper, but not too far away. Thanks much!

If you look at the bumper you can see to black plastic pieces on the ends. I believe that is the track that slides on a black plastic item that's bolted on the fender. The piece that's bolted on the fender, mine is broken thus the driver side bumper sags. Does anyone know the name of the part that bolts on to the fender or the part number for that piece? I would like to order it ASAP.
    Thanks in advance!

Here is the part I'm talking about. The part is broken, which is why the bumper doesn't slide into that part and sags. L
I can't find that part on realoem.

The yellow connector is for the temperature sensor.. you can take the whole senor out of it's hole. no need to unplug it. Part# 65811383204

thats not the part I need. I need the track that bolts on the fender that holds the side of the bumper aligned and in place.
    Thanks for the response!

    Photo is great. Thank you.

You need these parts for your sagging bumper: 51111944545, 51111944551. You can sometimes pick these up on the auction site, and some of our forum members might have these sitting around.

Have a look at RealOEM.com. Use the last seven of your VIN and it will pull up your car and all the parts for it.
