The 86' 635csi

Hey guys, haven't really posted on here before.
Thought I'd introduce myself and show you the rig.
Owned the car for around 4 years now, started driving it about a year and a half ago.
Its a 1986 635csi, black interior, sport seats, factory 5 speed.
Since owning it I've just maintained it, put E36 strut towers and ISC coilovers in it, put a sound system in it, threw some wheels on it, and a little intake, some side pipes (which will be changed in the short future), threw world series bumpers on, and painted it satin black with a metal flake clear coat in it and worst of all, blew up my diff and had to put in a junkyard diff with 315 gearing... wack.
anyways, heres a few pictures of the hoopty.

BBS style 5's on the front, rears are being reverse mounted with polished barrels.
currently on the rear are some borbet type a's, 16x9 et 15, had these from a previous E36. (have the fronts as well but i got a bulge in them so i had to run the style 5's)
The coilover setup are some E36 M3 ISC N1 coilovers with camber plates that i had from my previous e36 (325i, not m3).
in order to make them fit, i modified my strut towers by welding in E36 strut towers in place.
also cut the shocks from the E24 leaving about an inch and a half, and luckily the bottom sleeve for the e36 coilovers was a perfect dimension to slide on top of the inch and a half i left and welded them in place.
DH7H67y.png confused myself reading my own instructions so i made a picture to help. Basically, cut the stock strut at the red line, slide bottom mount (A.) on to the little bit of pipe you left, and then thread the shock into it (B.).
If youre not cheap like me, apparently you can put E30 camber plates on and they would be a direct fit. Can't confirm this though.
The rear coilovers on e36s are much different, it required longer springs and needed to buy some more collars and set them up like the front coilovers, drilled some holes on the rear strut towers to fit, and the bolt hole on the bottom end of the rear coilovers had to be bored out a bit to fit the larger bolt that e24's use.
Only thing i dont like is that the struts for E36's are longer in the rear and even on bump stops, its not nearly low enough for me. Im going to see if ISC can do something for me in terms of shorter shocks that will thread in.
The shocks im running are valved for track, and are very stiff, and running 8kg springs in the front and 600lb springs in the rear (dont know the conversion), so far theyre okay, only put them in 3 or so weeks ago, they need a little dialing.

Anyways, cant think of much else about the car. went from an introduction, to a build thread, to a DIY fuq your car up coilover install.

I like the styling & bodywork big time - the different wheels - its all legitimate E24 componentry - you see those wheels on 6ers, the one foglight hanging on, the remaining bits of bumper, the stuck antennae, shiny mirrors!

Did you tuck your bumpers in? They don't look like they are sticking out as far as normal, yet not a true "euro" bumper set up.

Its a US Spec bumper that has been tucked yes. Then I cut the black trim that sits on top of the bumper a little bit.
All I did was drill a hole in each shock, and pushed it in. Got sprayed by the awful smelling fluid that's inside the shock too and made a big mess in the shop. haha.
There is a Euro bumper for sale on my local craigslist for $300 too, not sure if i wanna go that route like everyone else though.
