Hi , first post here.
I have a '95 325i with a toasted engine.
I found a great vanos-less M50 from an early 90's 525i. Besides the wiring harness and the matching ECU what other things differ that I would need for the swap? I imagine some sensors etc...

What failed on the engine? Cause usually its the head that fails, warps a bit and can get some cracks. Usually a rebuilt or used head will do the trick. How many miles on the old engine?
