    When cleaning the inside, i may have try to raise the roof while moving. Would this be linked? Problem started shortly after that this week

    No, but, as has been said, you can test it by shorting the leads. I'm just saying that, if it was me, I would not leave it that way as has been suggested in other posts. You should be able to search to find other posts about how to change it out if the tests suggest it is bad.

    I have not had issues with mine, but after looking as some photos of the switch, I think it is possible to jumper it without cutting the wires.

    You should absolutely not cut the wire to jump the harness. We are jumping it to diagnose if it was faulty, cutting it would break it.

    I would recommend taking the car to someone familiar with automotive electronics to help you further diagnose this before things get worse.

    Figure the circuit is closed ONLY when pushing the up and down buttons. But -- I do have the parts to fix it. So...
