I was driving, hit a speed bump and *boom* (no real sound) my gas pedal went limp and I could not accelerate at all. The car rode at the appropriate 5 miles-per-hour until I could get it to a parking spot. Don't want to take it to a mechanic but any help on what I should first do?
Since you have a 98, you have a cable-actuated throttle.
The bushings on the throttle cable are known to go bad.
Have a check of the length of the throttle cable to look for any issues.
