Question Does cold weather climate CCV fit M52TU ?

    Hi.

I need to change my CCV and i want to use the cold weather climate version (11617533400), Since i come from norway.
My 12/98 BMW e39 m52tu is suppose to use the regular (11617501566) CCV,
and i cannot find any option for a cold climate version for it.

But, when i search and dig around for the M54 Engine, they get the option to choose regular ccv (11617501566) and the cold climate(11617533400).

Does this mean that i too can use the Cold climate for my m52tu,
or is there too great difference in the intake manifold connections in relation to the m54?
    Like the hoses wont fit?
Because the only difference that i can tell from realoem is that the M54, if it was to use the regular ccv,
the 03 Connecting line, and 07 Return pipe have different part numbers, compared to the M52tu.

Have anyone speculated with this before? Google does not have a match for me and some ebayers have my car on the compatibility list, and some do not.
So i came here to hopefully get a confirmation from the experts.

    Thanks for any help.

Short answer is no, but don't take my word for it, just read about it instead.

I think that it would work as most of the system is the same. For some reason or another, BMW didn't make one specifically for the M-52TU, perhaps that is because a failure like the M-54 was never recorded?

    Thanks for your answer dworthy.

I was able to find a note about it at fcpeuro.com
    Which says;

Note: In order to properly install the cold climate PCV system on an M52TU engine you will need to slightly modify the jacket to allow the vacuum hose to connect to the vacuum supply nipple on the side of the PCV valve.
The vacuum line must be used as it runs up to a hard line next to the fuel rail which supplies vacuum for the fuel pressure regulator.
This layout was changed on the M54 engine which does not require vacuum from the PCV.
Also note that some very early production M52TU engines use a different style PCV system. If the intake manifold distribution piece only has one inlet hose connected to it you will also need to order a new distribution piece, p/n

So thats it then i will check tomorrow and see if i have the old manifold distribution or not.
