Hi there!
I have been looking around for e36 sedan door panels but I have found nothing apart from the simple alluminium ones. They also look great but in Spain we have hard policies around car mods and something called "itv" which is a periodical inspection in which your car has to be something close to "immaculate" or they can even take your car out of the streets.
Said so, I was looking for door panels with "shape". Don't need to be the same shape as the oem ones, but at least something that can be considered as "safe" with no sharp angles nor something similar. Maybe I could use flat door panels for the rear as I am planning to delete the rear seats after turning my car legally for only two persons (driver and passenger) but I would be still in need of the front ones.
I have seen many for coupe in fiberglass, carbon or even in lightweight plastic done through thermoforming (I would say) but nothing for the 4-door one.
I would appreciate any help. In case that I could not find any product, I would probably give it a try to make my own ones, but I hate fiberglass .
Have a nice week!
Cheers!
I don't believe there are any for 4 door, ECS does sell coupe ones, but nothing on the market for 4 door that I am aware of.
How much lighter than cardboard are you going to get? Realistically how much savings can be had with a panel that looks stock but is just a different material? I'm not sure it's large enough to bother, there's easier weight savings to be had that won't interfere with your inspections (sound deadening for example).
