Radiator Temperature Sensor Missing Gasket from Factory?

Can this be? Original Radiator as far as I can tell, and the temperature sensor had no gasket 32411093596 when I removed it? Far as I can tell, never had a leak there.

So, all I need is this stupid 25 cent part. Think I can get away with any 14mm gasket there? I see the new ones are metal? Onto a plastic housing? Doesn't seem right, but no o-ring groove. Thoughts?

I just hate to put it all together and have it leak, there's a decent amount lot of coolant to lose to replace that.

There isn't a gasket on either of my cars right now I don't think. For sure not the M3. No leaks. Of course ymmv.

You wouldn't lose much coolant to add it later, just plug the whole with your finger while adding the gasket.

Mine doesn't have a gasket either. Wasn't there when I replaced my sensor, so I didn't put one on. No issues.

Thanks for the replies. Glad to hear. I did get one and put it on before I saw these posts. We'll see how it goes.
