Fling to be replacing my front shocks soon. And wanted opinions on the strut mount bearings. Can they be replaced alone?

also so debating on either Meyle struts or Sachs. Sachs about $100 ea. And Meyle $60 ea. Any opinions on Meyle.

The strut bearings are cheap enough to replace, although they don't wear much.
I once installed a Meyle tie rod that lasted only 20k miles. When I decided to replace it, I found the BMW puller would not fit on the idler arm joint.
I ended up having to remove the idler arm still connected to the tie rod, and filing the tie rod side of the joint so that the puller would fit.
I vote no on Meyle parts as a result. A $40 difference is not worth it.

Ed in San Jose '97 540i 6 speed aspensilber over aubergine leather. Build date 3/97. Golden Gate Chapter BMW CCA Nr 62319.
My bearings feel rough when I spin them. So is it replaceable (easy and simple) with the $12 part or do I need the entire strut mount. I was leaning more towards Sachs myself

if i'm not mistaken these are only on the i6 cars with EDC and V8's right? RealOEM diagram of my 2003 530i without EDC does not show this part for the non-edc setup

I wasn't sure. That was why I was asking. I don't believe I have edc. So this wouldn't work for me anyway?? Is that what you're saying?
