Truck intake manifold under e36 hood?

Has anyone tried fitting an vortec truck intake manifold under an e36's bonnet?

I asked once and was told there's no way with the stock hood to make it fit.
once i got my swap together, I don't see how it would fit even with a big cowl. It's tall and it's tall in the wrong place to even have a chance.
always trying to make it lighter and faster

Good to know. Was going to try and put a truck intake in the E36 so I could use the LS1 intake on another swap, due to fitment/space on that one. It's amazing how expensive some of the stock LS intake manifolds go for that I've seen around here.

I have 2 truck manifolds if youre looking for one. You cooouullldddd just cut the hood around it. Then again that kind of eliminates the sleeper status....

I have a truck intake manifold as well that I am not using. Trying to switch over to a LS/car intake manifold.

Pictured: a guy from my local track. He's got a 5.3 with a truck manifold. Fitment under the hood just isn't gonna happen

Yea, after looking at it again. It seems like the LS intake almost fits perfectly under the hood line, with maybe only 2 inches or so to spare.

With LS intakes going for around $180 - $300, I may just get an aftermarket set up for a little bit more at that point.

I thought along the same lines until I realized all the affordable aftermarket intake manifolds are metal. I wanted to make sure I got plastic so it'd do better with the heat. Didn't want to shell out for a FAST, wasn't sure an MSD Atomic would fit, so I snagged an LS6 intake off LS1Tech or eBay.
Just couldn't talk myself into a metal manifold that would heatsoak like a bish.

I thought the same about the metal intake manifolds, which half were Chinese junk anyways. Ended up finding an LS6 intake manifold that had a small crack in it at the back. Will plastic weld it up and it should be good to go, considering I've seen guys plastic weld a bunch of holes after shaving their truck intake manifolds to smoothen the top section out.
