Can some tell me if there's another way to open the hood of a E 30 my don't want to open even though I pulled the cable .
thank you Alxalix,
The latch is located right above the kidney grills - did you try pushing down on the hood while someone else pulls on the lever?
I would try that first - if you haven't already. It may just need a slight adjustment.
You can also use a screwdriver to pop the latch from the front of the car. A quick Google search will bring up photos.

For years I carried a long screwdriver between the door and the drivers seat because that e30s hood cable was broken. Hah. Very handy method.
If your e30 runs bad, switch to Megasquirt first. Then try new spark plugs, cap and rotor, wires, oxygen sensor, crank shaft position sensor, coolant temp sensor, air flow meter, idle control valve, throttle position sensor, digital motor electronics unit, harmonic balancer, fuel injectors, engine harness...

this is the screwdriver in the grill method ....
just make sure that you don't have your head too close to the hood when you pop it ..... the hood will spring forward slightly when it opens

... forty-three years of driving before I get behind the wheel of a BMW .... and I am thinking, "why did it take me so long?"
... and then after another 4 years I can't believe that I have two of them !!
