CEL comes on while idling

hey guys so I'm new to BMW i just bought a 1995 bmw 318is manual transmission and my CEL comes on while idleing but goes away when i rev it or start driving it, so i did the pedal trick and got code 1226 which i read is for the knock sensor. Also sometimes when i start the car it seems likes about to die. if its the knock sensor can anyone tell me where the location is for both. thank you

BOTH? Both what, knock sensors? Your profile says you have a 318, you should only have 1 knock sensor. In any case, it's on the block, below the intake manifold.

No, the 318 has two individual sensors, one for cylinders 1 & 2, the other for 3 & 4. The six cylinder cars have two on the same harness.
