    84 318i won't rev past 5500

    I've been messing around with this car for about a week got it running. When driving has power until about 5k than hits limiter. I'm an a technician and did a induction service on it yesterday. And with the extra fuel ie induction cleaner the car fever out to about 7100 any ideas on how to get more fuel into this thing? I'm running out of ideas

    IIRC, there is a spring loaded cut-off in the rotor button. As the spring gets weak, it will shut the spark down earlier then the 6500 limit.

    Pop your distributor cap and check it out - you can always replace it with a non rev-limiting rotor.
