So over the few months of driving my 325 the yellow warning lights for DSC and DTC appear, when this happens i pull over turn the car off and on again or use the dsc button and its gone and will not come back for another 5-6 weeks then i repeat these steps. Any ideas on what this could be? I took it to a mechanic and he told me no to worry about it but i thought id ask here as well.
Well I would get the ABS computer scanned, as that is where your answer will be.
Is it only the DSC light? Do you also have the brake and ABS light coming on as well?

no, no abs light. yellow DSC and brake light sorry*
Okay, then it won't be an ABS sensor then. You will still need to get the ABS/DSC DME scanned as there are several impact and direction sensors that could be bad, or having interface issues.

It might now be advantageous to arrange with a dealer $$$ for the purposes only to identify the issue. Then hire a BMW indy, or fix yourself!
Pull the reins in on those Clydesdales buddy, you sure want the OP to throw in the towel fairly quickly.
First, yes OP, a diagnostic scan with BMW software would be the preferred way to understand what the warning lights mean,
as a scan will reveal the codes causing the warnings.
If you can perform some DIY maintenance, maybe we can clear up that periodic warning.
Question: when was a brake fluid flush last performed, or better yet, was one ever performed?
If you have no knowledge of one being performed, do it now. While you're there remove and clean ABS-wheel speed sensors.
Check all DSC electrical connections for clean, snug fit.
These are cheap easy fixes you can attempt if no scan tools readily available.
A scan will still be needed if you don't experience positive results.
thanks guys for the help, flushed brake fluid and scanned codes, turned out be a damaged sensor. Thanks for the help guys!
