Unhappy 02~530i w/esp aftermarket installation attempt

    Help:
I know there are hours upping pages to read on this topic but in the interest of time...has anyone had a successful installation of aftermarket head unit w/amp & subs? I'll continue reading obviously, but any info would be of great appreciation as I am going throught music withdrawals for this last week since I bought my 530i.please and thanks

What are you having trouble with? Do you have a wiring diagram that you're working off of?

    Hi,

Lots and lots of E39's have audio installs with aftermarket head units, amplifiers, speakers and subwoofers. There's multiple ways you can go from relatively straightforward, tried and tested good design setups up to much higher levels of installs, products and finishing/trimming etc.

What would you like to do? how do you listen to your music? are you wanting a mild upgrade? a relatively modest mid level install or a high level awesome sound quality one? how much have you allocated to spend to achieve what you'd like ?

    Cheers, Dennis!

I have a single din head unit, after market subs and amp. I always do my own installations. My problem is that with the factory dsp system, I had to reroute both the information screen as well as the business CD leaving them wired in obviously. This was the only way I could get sound from my head unit. The only way I found without doing a complete rewire. It seems as that since the car is 15 years old that a aftermarket harness would be available to simplify this process. I have it all installed but the system came out of another vehicle I owned and know the full potential of my set up. It is not performing up to it's previous capacity. Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
