I have a 1998 540 1 and I changed the ignition tumbler today all went well and started to reassemble the car and the piece that goes over the tumbler once assembled broke . Now it won't start . Could that be the problem?
New to site
I broke the piece that has a plug on it , this goes over the tumbler , will this cause it not to start?
Hi
Yes because it won't be able to see the chip in the key

Welcome to the forum.
You need part #7, which is just a coil of wire with a plug on it.
