Ive got to do a swap on my 03 3.0 z4. I found one locally thats in a 01 330 is this doable without doing major changes? There both dual vanos engine but something changed around 9/02 from what Ive seen just not sure what it is?
Any help be appreciated
You have MS45 ecu, the 330i in question has MS43 ecu, so some sensors will be different. You will have to use all your sensors to go with the MS45 ecu.

Thank you. So basically its just a matter of switching parts over to be compatible? the block and head are the same? Thank you again
The 01 crank pulley has a 5-rib pulley for the AC belt while the 03s have a 4-rib pulley. I think you can just use the 4-rib belt on the 5-rib pulley without any real consequence though.
03+ cars also got different ignition coils, so you'll have to grab the valve cover and coils from your original engine.
