Holy Grail of diff upgrade for 6 speed and 4 speed auto with 'few more HP"

Step 1, need LSD unit: Find E46 M3 differential and buy it, extract LSD unit. (cross compatible, shimming needed).
Step 2 need donor 210mm E31 diff case: (use the useless BMW 840 2.81 open diff.)
Step 3 Profit! (sorry could not resist the south park reference Step 3 is find the unobtanium 3.45 gear set in depths of Russia, buy and ship it over.
Step 4, put together the whole collection of complete replacement bearings, seals and clutches:

There are a bunch of 3.45 diffs in EU from E34 535 manual,, they also have the 210mm casing,, and afaik,, the E32 735 also ad 3.45 210 mm casing

Yes, however I would not say a bunch, they are rare and $$ plus shipping to Us is very expensive. In US 3.45 was never an option.
