95 rear cup holder wood trim

    Hi all,

I scored a wood rear cup holder in a junkyard from a 95 and would like to remove the wood portion and place it on my rear seat cup holder in my 98. How do I remove the wood trim without damaging it?

From memory I carefully pried it loose. and it took a bit of fiddling to get it to fit the rear seat cupholder. It was worth it though.

Is it held in by compression? I ask because the parts database illustration doesn't list any hardware for securing #7 to the cup holder:

I had to remove mine to clean it due to a spill, but that's been years ago. I'm almost certain that it is secured by two screws on the bottom side of the seat.

Two screws hold the cup holder to the seat. That's not what I'm asking. How do I remove the wood trim from the donor cup holder and put it onto my rear seat cup holder as Kulgan has done?

Thanks Q, I'm guessing that I may just have to carefully pry it off, since it does seem to be it's own part.

I'd start with the one from the back seat and pry that one off first. You wont want to break the wood one on the first attempt.

Thanks Kulgan. I figured it out. For future reference to anyone, it's held in by two posts. Once loose it wiggles out top to bottom.
