I did the full timing on it as I have done lots of them..got all the right tools..well my bmw is throwing a p1522 code and both cam position sensors are working.. car runs like a dream. I don't understand what's going on..so any help would be very appreciative..thanks in advance

Have you tried swapping the sensor to see if the code follows? Are they Bosch sensors?

With Both sensors plugged in I'm getting a code p1522.
With driver side unplugged I'm getting p1340
With pass side unplugged I'm getting po340
So with both sensors plugged in I'm not getting the p1340 or po340 only P1522. But car runs like a dream

just a wild guess because your code(p1522) means the solenoid on bank2(left side) is getting mixed signals
    check:
    A) aftermarket cps sensor or B) melted wiring on the cps sensor

I was just battling a p1519 which is the same issue, but on the other bank. According to my research, these codes are nearly always timing issues. Your cams could very well be in time with the crank, but the computer does not think that they are. I would try retarding the cam trigger wheel a few degrees and see if the code goes away. I bought a cheap timing tool kit when I did my timing chain guides and feel like they may be the cause of my timing troubles.

We did this to my friend`s m62tu engine but his code was p0011...Code did go away after retarding the bank 1 timing wheel a few degrees...
