Thanks for looking first of all, and I did a search for my problem, but either I'm an idiot and didn't see it, or it isn't there...
I have a 2010 328i xdrive sedan and the yellow BRAKE light is on, and when I first start the car the yellow car on a hoist shows. My confusion is, the fluid is good, the brakes have been completely redone within the last year and everything is running great. I don't understand why the yellow brake light just came on. Now, I will say that when I did the brake job, I did not redo the sensors and they were broken, so I completed the circuit by connecting the sensor wires together and reset the light, which was red at that time. Any ideas? Thank you in advance!
Are you saying that the yellow light just came on or has it been on since doing the brake job a year ago?
Have a scan performed with a BMW specific scan tool/software,
that will be able to communicate with brake system modules,
and display the appropriate error or fault code(s), leading to the right fix.
It just randomly came on.
You need a tool that can communicate with the BMW computers installed in your vehicle.
The light displays to warn you of a fault, the tools are for communication and to display the fault.
That is the function of the computer modules, so there is no guessing involved.
It may be that they tried to use a marginal wear sensor that has failed. Do you know how to identify and examine those sensors?

Is this the word "BRAKE", illuminated in yellow? Or is this the service light, with the car on a lift, and then a picture of (A) brakes with a liquid, front of car with brakes, or rear of car with brakes?
Do you have the owner's manual for your car? Do you know how to scroll through the various service items, using the "BC" control on the end of your turn signal stalk? {Or the I-drive, if you have that}
Whether the brakes were "completely redone last year" or not isn't the question. The question would be: "Were they redone by a BMW specialist, and was the fluid changed, and were the service lights reset correctly and the sensors replaced, too?"
