I could probably save u a few 100 if buying new. Let me know.

I personally would buy the gtw6262 tho. Which a Garrett gt3582r is basically a 6162 but outdated wheels. At least the GTW has updated compressor wheel. Your basically getting the gtx wheel on the GTW.
I was leaning towards the GT35R since it is a smaller frame (similar to my current turbo) and can drop in with little to no modification. The GTW line says it's not a direct drop in and is physically bulkier. Also, it uses different fittings. I'm concerned that it will cost more in the labor the shop charges to fit this turbo in the current location. If the GT35R is a hard hitting turbo that will meet my power goals I'm wondering if the GTW is worth the additional hassle.

What price can you get on a GT3582R .82?

Just get the biggest a/r they offer, it's a ball bearing turbo with a 61mm compressor it's going to hit peak boost fast no matter what. Bigger a/r will "slow" it down but keep exhaust back pressure down which =s happy turbo. The problem with a normal gt35r is exactly what butters said. It's an old Turbo plain and simple although still good there are better options for not much more.

I think we'll have to order one up.

My only concern is how much work and labor will be involved in fitting a GTW since it a physically larger frame than the GT/GTX line and uses different fittings. I'm also waiting to hear what pricing Butters can get on a GT35R.

Has anyone here run any of the GTW series? I wonder if they are worth it with those old turbines still.

BTW, a 5857 can hit 560WHP on E85 and a built motor. It can almost hit 600 maxed out.

Yeah I'm sure it could too but running turbos to the limit and past there efficiency range is just not a smart thing to do. I'd say go with the 35r if butters can get you some fancy pricing

I had a GTW6765, on a spa. The bulky thing is very over-exaggerated and fits with no issue. Fittings wise it uses the Chra from garretts older t-series ball bearing turbos so fittings are easily figured out.

As usual with the Garrett turbos I had I only installed once and removed once because I was selling. They really are set it and forget it.

I'm running a gtw3684 (6262) however I am waiting on the megasquirt pnp to be shipped before I can make any comments on actual numbers. If you want pics of fitment I can get those tomorrow.

I ended up going through Butters and following his recommendation of the GTW3684. I already have a Haltech elite 2500 that was tuned for my current turbo. Looks like it will be a race to see who is up and running with numbers first...lol.

Although I'm not shooting for more than 450whp.

Butters has been a great help to me in my build. He supplied my turbo as well. You will def win the race to completion, i am def interested to hear your feelings on it once you get it in.
