Hey all I came across this little piece of info and was wondering if this is true as I cannot find anything about it.
"on the N62 catalytic converters destroy with time and their cells get to the cylinders. It causes scoring in the cylinder blocks. Therefore it would be better to remove the catalytic converters and to install cat-backs instead."

If this is true then it is a pretty scary thing! I have 100k miles on my 7er with original cats, should I get them replaced?? I'm very concerned after reading this.
Please
How would their cells get to the cylinders, considering they're on the exhaust side and most of the time you have the valves in the way?
They'd have to literally crawl up the header.
