Hello E32 Fans!
As of today there are 510 registrations for The Vintage, a fantastic gathering of vintage BMWs in and around Asheville, NC, but so far there are only three E32 registered as far as I can tell. In a way I find it cool to show up there with such a rare car, but on the other hand I'd like to see a few more E32 so we can stare and compare, and share stories and experiences. They are the most elegant 7s anyway, so we should show up in a large contingent.
see you in Asheville!
@shogun: You'll be very welcome without your car, and I'm sure you won't have to pay for a single beer the whole weekend.
I'll be there with my e32.. I registered a few weeks ago. '88 735i

Not sure why it is not loading for you. Maybe there is a cut off for the amount of cars? If it does not allow you to register I would contact Scott directly. His contact info. is listed on the websight.
This will be my second trip to the Vintage with the Euro 7. But it will be my 9th time at the event. If you are a fan of Vintage BMW's even if your car is not able to make the trip or you don't even have a Vintage BMW come anyway just to experience the event. It is well worth the trip!
Cut off was set to 600.. I believe

Holy crap its 14 hours away from me . Should I go ?
Me E30 87/ 325i + F25 12/ M-Sport + E32 94/ 740i
G/F’s E34 92/ 525iT + F48 18/ X1
The event is about 12 hours away from me. When it was held in Winston-Salem it was a 14 hour drive for me. I guess it all depends on how much you like to drive LOL!
I enjoy attending shows and do quite a few every year, time permitting. This is my favorite BMW event. I don't even consider attending BMW CCA Oktoberfest and I have been a CCA member for over 20 years, in lieu of attending this event. My second favorite event is Eurofest held just out side of Greenville SC. It was held at the Zentrum for years but was moved to the Embassy Suites Resort in Greenville last year. If you enjoy seeing all types of Vintage Euro cars that is also a great event.
Cory just bite the bullet, fill the car with lots of coffee and sugary snacks and hit the road by the time you come down from the sugar high you will be there.
Hope you make it would like to meet you in person. By the way the drivers side mirror I purchased from you is being painted and installed as I write this! Zieg
looks like it is an issue with the work computer - website times out. loads on my phone...
I am tempted - I could bring the daily which looks passable, or "the beast", which is headed for rat-rod status, as the paint is shot and it has algae/moss growing on it.

So can anyone tell me about this event? Is is pretty much just show cars in pristine condition? Would love to go and bring my 735 but it's a good 16 plus hour drive for me and I don't think my car is "Show" ready yet lol.
I love to drive it's being able to leave the shop that's tuff. My gf has been asking me when the BMW shows are as she's excited to go. It be nice to see you and see that beautiful grey market ! .

If I had more than a month to plan I'll definitely go. Count me in next year!
How about this car, is it show ready? I saw it last year in Asheville. There's everything there from rusty cars with charm to beautifully restored E3 and E9. Check out the web site, there are some pictures and videos from the previous years.
It's a three-day event if you want. On Friday there's an open-house at the BMW CCA Foundation in Greer, SC. That's across the street from the Spartanburg plant and you have to register separately. On Saturday we drive from Asheville to Hot Springs for the "show" part, and on Sunday there will probably be several smaller activities. Last year I took part in a drive to Mt Mitchell. Lastly, there's the host hotel with plenty of beer and car talk in the parking lot. This year, the daily parking lot parties will be a bit more organized for legal reasons. Can't bring your own beer anymore, but they'll have a bar.
Honestly that sounds like a blast! I've never heard of the event so that's why I asked what kind of cars are there. I'll definitely try to make it next year since a month is cutting it too close for my liking to plan that big of a drive.
It's all bmws pre '95 cars.. E36s are not allowed though

I would have loved to go but my MCAT is that weekend, so I won't be able to make it.
I am definitely thinking of joining with my 93-750il. It looks like it would be 600 miles drive for me from Orlando. Plus I already have the time off from work because it will be my birthday.
Did I read the cut off was 600 vehicles?
This is a screen shot from the registration site. It was posted a little while back that it had been extended to 600 from the initial 500. That was the last update at far as numbers go.

That posting was made a few days before last years's event which was the first one in Hot Springs. Once we were there it became clear that the site could handle more than 500 cars, and Scott announced at the closing of the show that in 2017 they may be able to accept 600. As of now, I haven't read any official statement about a cap. Either way, make up your mind, find accommodation and sign up!

Luther is in our Richmond BMW Group on FB....Luther are you on this board too?
I'm not Luther, but I doubt he's in here. He doesn't own an e32, chances are he's not.
