There is visible oil on the engine under the intake manifold. Checked our several repair videos on YouTube to confirm that I am doing what is required. Should I be using some type of gasket sealer as part of the process. Neither the Bentley manual or the YouTube videos mention use of anything other than a new oil filter gasket. Any advice is appreciated since I am hoping that three times is a charm.
If the oil filter housing gasket was installed correctly along with new compression rings on the oil supply hose, I would suspect a crack in the oil supply hose. They get brittle with age making them prone to leaking if handled.
