So I hooked up the lights again this evening and man are they bright. Will post pics later.

Tomorrow I'll try and finish up sorting out the AE stuff and hopefully put everything back together.

This is with the headlight just sitting on top of the bumper and not actually bolted in.

I then lifted it up slightly to simulate what it would be like at proper aim.

That looks fantastic. My morimoto bulbs are coming in today. Excited to put those in instead of the cheap pos bulb that causes a hot spot that's in there now.

That does look nice! Hard to tell 100% with all the background, but looks good from what I can see. Now slow down so I can catch up! I'm waiting on connector parts from BMW and TRS.

Dude, that light output looks awesome! I gotta get off my lazy butt and get back on my lights! So far, I have one of the housing opened up, but that's it.

Light output does look pretty good. Kinda hard to see clearly with the background, but looks to have a pretty sharp cutoff and good color band...

Alright, so I need a little help here. I'm trying to figur out in where to tap in the interior light.

My harness kit is built like this:
    • Four plugs that connect to the four SMD rings
    • Two battery source wires; red wire with a 20A fuse in line (will hook it to + feed wire in the DME box) and a black wire (either grounded next to the DME box or behind the passenger side headlight ground source)
    • One red wire that will tap to a DME power source
    • One white wire that will tap to an interior light source
    • One normally closed relay

So while I may have figured out where all other wires go to, I'm having a slight trouble with hooking up the white wire. Where's the best source to tap this one to?

I tested the SMD AE ring today and they looked super bright. Not really bluish in colour but really super bright. They look having a 6000K or 6500K scale. I'll post one pic later.

Pull one of the door panel lights and look at the wires going to the plug. One should be brown and the other red with I think violet stripe. All of the interior lights have the same color wire, aka puddle lights. Look back at my AE DEL thread and I say specifically what color it is. Look for that same color wire coming put of the lcm and tap into it.

Yep, I did pull one of the door light panels and it is a red and looked like a light blue-ish or like you said pale violet color. I was then trying to trace that wire back to the LCM but I couldn't find it for some reason although I think I saw a red/blue color but the blue was darker than at the door light. I'll pull out the LCM and look for it again.

I say in my post on the AE thread I linked to exactly what pin it is.

Yes. Interior lights are from GM. See Pauls thread.

You know, I think I meant to say GM. My bad. Either way, the correct module was listed in my other thread post.

Yep, I've seen the red/blue wire at GM pin 20. I thought I had to tap at the LCM side and was frantically looking for that wire, so that's where I was confused a little. Later did I realized the GM controls the interior lights. Quick question though. Any chance that wire also run up to the DME box?

Nope, doesn't go to the ebox. That would make it too easy. Know of any interior lights in the engine bay?

I don't think there is one.

Anyways, guess I'll have to pull this wire through the firewall and then tap it.

I was being sarcastic. Of course there aren't any.

Asim- why you running any wires to the ebox? All the DRL and Puddle light connection can be made near the glove box area right near the LCM/GM zone.

Well, I only need to run this one trigger wire through the firewall while the rest are just power and ground.

I've been wanting to retrofit PDC but am hesitating because I can already foresee the hours of hunching over the hood trying to run wires through the firewall while simultaneously asking myself why I put myself in these positions. Let us know how it goes.

Will do. There are actually two trigger wires but one can stay in the ebox while the other will have to go through the firewall. I may have to get a foot long wire enough to reach the GM.

Why aren't you using the factory AE wires and doing your wiring in the passenger footwell and not doing anything in the ebox?
