Hello,
I've got an '02 540iT M Sports and I've been having issues with the radiator/cooling system.
A preface: The heating and cooling have been going in and out since I bought it used. I replaced the FCU (FUC?) a while back, but continued to have issues to this day.
I was jacking up the car the other day in order to do something else and accidentally placed the jack under the oil pan and as a result, broke the top radiator hose. A friend noticed that there was green fluid in the radiator and recommenced replacing everything. I don't have a lot of money so I replaced only the top hose. I tried flushing the system and put in a lot of distilled water. When I started the car and ran it, it seemed as though the thermostat wouldn't open. A closer look revealed that there was some corrosion and leaking around the t-stat and perhaps the heater regulator. I replaced the t-stat and tried running it again.
The problem seems to be that the cycle is not running. Hot water remains in the top and cool at the bottom. I ran the car for 20 minutes and while the top hose got full and hot, the bottom remained relatively cool but the gauge stayed at half and never moved past that.
Any ideas?
Use the KTMP cluster test.
Anything from about 90C-108C is good.
Ok. I had to Google that. I found a thread on it here:

Will that work for the E39?
