I have had issues with older 5 Series as some of the forum's veterans will recall. Last night I took home my 2017 X3 and my other half closed the garaged door 🚪 on my bumper. Dang me and garage doors....
Imagine a tiny 2-4" gash all the way down to the paint. - Like a julienne carrot 🥕. Things happen and I'm wondering where to get it painted so it's done right and whether it's going to show up on the Carfax. Initial research shows that Carfax only really pulls from police reports and from insurance companies that sell your info.
I'll get a a photo up, but it's right below the license plate on the hatch.

Since it's a brand new car, I would take it back to the dealer and have them address it. Like you mentioned, Carfax only pulls when a claim was submitted. Best of luck!

Thank you! I had a body shop do a quote on it and it's not too bad. It's just shy of $1000USD due to it having a pearlescent white color. They estimate is mostly the labor. I think all is well, but thank you for the sincere reply. Off to the dealer I go.
