Most likely one tyre change only and may start on super soft tyres (red) and then change to soft tyres (yellow) in the end. I think turn 11 through turn 13 we may or may not see enough close wheel to wheel battles as we have seen over the years, so most of overtaking might only happen on the long straights and at turns 9, 10, and 11. Of course, I could be wrong but I would love to see these new aero rules and drivers prove me

When will he return?
Ouch. Shitty way to go out.
I'll put this here, as naturally it's too early to have a dedicated Monaco thread yet:
Alonso is ditching the Monaco GP, and will race in Indy 500! He'll be driving an Andretti car which is affiliated with McLaren and powered by Honda (though they should've stayed with Mercedes power... Am I doing this right?).

BMWs are fun in the snow too...
^Good for him. Seriously.
He's won at Monaco twice; if he wins at Indy (unlikely, but possible) and then at Le Mans later in his career, that's the Triple Crown of Motorsport.

Hmm .... interdasting that both Big Mac drivers (that would have loved to race with AMG engines) are wanting to skip a little bit of F1.
Vandoorne was joking

And of course NBCSN continues to suck - they are not showing qualifying live, but have made the programming choice to go with Watford v. Swansea City on CNBC. This is total crap and I'm confused why NBCSN has chosen that F1 fans are second-tier fans. Watford/Swansea will have no bearing whatsoever on the EPL this year; whereas we're 2 races into the F1 season, and with Red Bull's resurgence in FP2, qualifying has a real chance of being wide-open.
Bold Ulysses - can you make an exception for profanity in this case?
Watch on NBCSN online. There were no commercials today and we got extra camera between commentating
RTR
I watched it on my iPad, but have been having trouble with my AppleTV, so it was a frustrating watch from a technology perspective. While I appreciated the extra footage, this isn't the first time NBCSN screwed F1 fans. They don't show replays of certain Pacific/Pacific Rim races (Australia and Japan come to mind) and we get bumped for crap games. It's just disappointing. Since they're the only ones with the rights in the US, I doubt anything will change.
Qualifying was pretty decent though. Who else was surprised by McLaren's (who should've stayed with Mercedes power) engine blowing up on Alonso at the end of Q1/beginning of Q2?
Reminded how uninspired this circuit design is, each year.
Botas...Mercedes still with big power/speed advantage over the rest of the field...expect more of the same this year
